![]() ![]() The only other real option is APH, but they are far too and not so often talked about in this community. One person mentioned that they don't use on-point anymore, but I never got the full story on that. Saying things like 'they think they know best, so they don't want to listen to your wants or feedback because they are just going to do it their way anyways'. I also read somewhere that Touge used to just put your car on the dyno and have On-point dyno tune the car remotely, and there was some negative feedback on their approach to tuning. That said, I think Touge isn't able to offer attentive service because they are probably too busy for their size. I've since switched to ordering some of my parts from Subie Supply co in Brantford, or just getting NV Auto to order me some parts, as that's where I take my car to do the maintenance bits I don't want to deal with (like flushing the transmission fluid). When I send them emails on their website, it usually takes them days to get back to me. I have ordered parts from Touge but I have one of their sales people on instagram and just get him to put my orders through. The fact they are about 95km away from me leads me to think I may not go that route, as you mentioned I may need to visit more than once to get the tune perfect! I shot emails out to all the tuners I mentioned late Friday night, and I don't expect responses till this coming week, but Definitive got back to me on Saturday and mentioned that they do do base maps but charge 100$ for them. Good luck on the tune and if you'd like more info from me don't hesitate to ask.Ĭlick to expand.I'm actually just east of Neetronics (Burlington), 15 mins down the road, so I'm glad to hear some positive feedback on them, because they would probably honestly be the easiest for me to deal with. If I need a shop to put hands on my car I cannot speak highly enough about Seven Automotive. This was several years ago so things may have changed. Customer service was in my opinion found to be severely lacking. This is why I passed on giving my business to touge tuning. These circumstances made me think that if I did actually have a serious issue with my vehicle/tune I wouldn't be taken care of. Justin is great at what he does and is great to work with.Īs for my experience with touge tuning, I couldn't get certain people on the phone when I had questions or to book a tune. This is what made me look elsewhere and which is how I happened to find Definitive Tuning. I worked with Andy to revise the tune but each time essentially required me to spend the better part of a day at the shop, ultimately resulting in me taking a day off work. ![]() Neetronics did my tune (stage 3, headers, tgv deletes) initially, but the idle jumping on cold start drove me up the wall. Especially since the route you're going (injectors) can sometimes require a bit of dialing in to get perfect (in my experience). I would recommend sticking with a shop that is relatively close to your house. Definitive is 25-30mins from me whereas Neetronics is nearing 2hrs away. The shops actually seem to give a damn.īeing on the North end is what made getting to Neetronics to be somewhat of chore. The customer service is there on both accounts. Both are very good tuners in my experience. My direct tuning experience is with both Neetronics (Andy) and more recently Definitive Tuning (Justin). ![]() I am hoping to get the car ready to tune this month, so I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer. Is anyone here from the area or have any experience with the mentioned shops, or have a better suggestion? These are either shops I have experience with, referrals, or shops I have heard of. On-point Dyno (They aren't offering tuning services at this time).NV Auto (They don't tune in-house, they outsource to a couple shops mentioned below).I have reached out to the following shops: I am also considering picking up a Killer B hard turbo inlet pipe, but these are back ordered until late September, so it really depends on how long this all takes. Cobb 1050x fuel injectors (I don’t want to install these, I would have the shop install).Cobb FPR kit (This requires a base map).Tomei ELH (I will install this shortly).AEM 340 fuel pump (I will install this shortly). If not, it will depend on how much they charge to install the parts if I will consider them a candidate for my pro-tune. Of the parts I have acquired, I am willing to install most of them, but some of these parts require the tune to work safely, so it'd be important that the tuner offers a 'base map' to allow me to drive the car to the dyno. I'm in the process of collecting parts in anticipation of having a pro-tune done.įirst I'll tell you what parts I have planned, and then I'd like some feedback based on my list of potential tuners, or if I am missing anyone. ![]()
